Our design approach is highly flexible and allows for extensive customization. Even if you request changes to your granny flat during the construction process, our efficient system can accommodate them, though at an additional cost to you.

Yes. We offer a vast range of design and finishing choices for our garden studios and granny flats, and we make sure to collaborate with you until you are completely satisfied with the end result. There are no restrictions on the design and finishing options, and we will work closely with you to achieve your desired outcome.

How will my pod be handled or supervised?

The project manager assigned to your home pod will collaborate with the design and construction teams to bring your project to life according to your vision. You, as the client, will retain control throughout the entire design process of your home pod.

Is there a limit on the size of the potential project?

Accepted Answer

There are no size restrictions on potential projects, but available land is a limiting factor. However, it is important to keep in mind that obtaining planning and building permits for home pods can take longer depending on the project's complexity. Below 10 sqm will not require permits.

Is it possible to expand my home pods in the future?

Our home pods process is highly modular, making it simple to expand our projects in the future. We frequently take on projects for clients who want to add to their existing structures. This means that you can construct a home studio that fits your budget now and expand it later on.

Is it necessary to prepare the site for construction in a specific way?

The installation team will handle the site preparation for your project. In some cases, extra site preparation may be necessary and may incur additional costs, but Nespods will ensure that these costs are kept within the project's budget.

What is your warranty?

Nestpods  provides a 10-year structural warranty, which is required by Victorian Law, 5-year craftmanship warranty if the pod is installed by us,

Upon receiving pods, the purchaser should inspect them for visible defects and report any defects in writing to the manufacturer within 7 days of discovering them, but no later than 5 years from the  date of installation.

what kind of maintenance will my pod require?

Here are some common maintenance tasks that may be required:
1. Cleaning: You will need to clean your pod regularly, both inside and outside. This may involve wiping down surfaces, vacuuming or sweeping floors, and cleaning windows.
2. Inspections: Regular inspections of your pod will be necessary to ensure that all systems and components are functioning properly. This may include checking plumbing, electrical systems, heating and cooling, and other features of the pod.
3. All our materials and components require minimal maintenance.

All our pods are constructed using robust techniques that comply with all Victorian building codes and regulations. These pods are designed to endure severe weather conditions. Our building method involves utilizing Structurally Insulated System. to create the structures. As a result, these pods are not only fully insulated but also have a strong structure, with the roof's weight evenly distributed across the panels.

How energy efficient is my pod?

Our pods are completely insulated, with walls and roofs constructed using high-density PU foam that possesses an R value of 2.5. This ensures that the indoor temperature remains comfortable, regardless of the exterior temperature. Interestingly, our pods have superior insulation compared to many homes constructed from brick.

What options do I have for heating and cooling systems?

The standard inclusions do not include heating and cooling options because the requirements can vary significantly based on the location and usage of the project. Several popular heating options, such as open fireplaces, pot belly stoves, gas fires, and hydronic heating, are available, while ceiling fans and, on occasion, split air-conditioning systems are the typical cooling options.  Nestpods will collaborate with you to determine the optimal energy and cost-efficient solution for your pods.
